Operating room technicians are also referred to as surgical technologists or surgical technicians. They assist in preparing operating rooms for a surgery. They are responsible for having instruments, bandages, fluids, and other equipment ready They also may assist doctors by handing them instruments during surgery and counting sponges and needles before and after the operation. They deliver specimens to hospital laboratories for analysis. After operations, they take patients to the recovery room.
